The course covers the basic skills necessary to assist the Dentist in an entry level position performed in a dental practice. The program emphasizes “hands-on” skills in all areas of dentistry, patient and laboratory procedures, dental anatomy, and dental instrument knowledge and sterilization techniques. To become a dental assistant one has to be able to multi-task, think on their feet and have a gentle touch. They also have to be a good communicator and anticipate the needs of the dentist and patient during dental procedures.
